Brighton turned 1!

These pictures are really dark cause we had to use our video camera but I'm pretty sure we have probably ten different versions between my sisters' and mom's cameras.
I can't believe my little guy is one year old. He was supposed to be my baby for a while. He has been kicking around little balls lately so I decided to do a soccer ball cake. He really likes cake so we found. He demolished it! (and by the way we did not give him the whole cake just maybe half - haha) What a cutie! He didn't really get the whole present thing so he had a little help.
I know I'm kind of a lame mom for not doing a big grand party. I guess it's what you get after three kids. I'm pretty sure all he cared about was the cake and presents anyway. I can't wait to get his one year birthday pictures taken but probably won't happen until after the crazy holidays.

Halloween

Ivie had her 5th birthday. She wanted a unicorn cake so we came up with this. I wanted to try these cake balls. They were fun and I definitely ate too many.

We had a Family night where the kids got to go pick a pumpkin from Grandma Froerer's garden. Then they painted them.

This year for halloween we all kind of did our own little thing. Ivie was a witch, Zander was a firefighter, Brighton was a dinosaur, Lance got to be Heman, and I fulfilled my young girl dreams by being Rainbow Bright, and . My mom tells me that when I was younger I used to say, "my name isn't Breklyn it's Rainbow Bright!"
My mom hosted a family halloween party at the old methodist church on 26th street. It was really fun and scary too. My Mom and Dad and especially my Uncle Jerold and his family went all out in decorating and games. We had a scavenger hunt in the dark and there were so many creepy things in an already creepy building. I had to pretend not to be scared so that Zander would calm down. They even had a fake hobo asleep in a sleeping bag with his cart, jugs of water and boxes of food. Pretty much everyone, including me, was fooled and thought that some guy really had snuck in and set up camp. Then of course we had kareoke and got to listen to my Dad aka Steve Perry sing a concert to us all night long. :)
On Halloween we took the kids trick or treating to a grand number of 5 houses in the pouring rain. Then we headed off to the Collard's for another fun party with fun games, and too many delicious treats!

family pictures

These were taken at the beginning of the summer. I'm just barely posting them. It was raining really hard but Austin and Karen were going to leave for Med school in the next week so this was our last chance for a family picture. Mitzi did these and they look awesome, especially when you consider the conditions for taking pictures.

Before and After

We finally moved in to our newly remodeled house. It's been a crazy and busy summer. I finally have some pictures to post so I'm doing some before and after shots.
First a before and after of Zander's hair cut. Isn't he a handsome little guy. This is after we've moved in so he was long overdue for a hair cut.
You can see our tile and carpet in the living room, but until I have organized a little more I think I'll wait on taking an "after"shot. :)
Before: These are in the master bedroom. We added a bigger closet and took the carpet and wood floors out and put new carpet in. Framed in the dinky little space over the closet. Also notice the ceiling. Half of the ceilings in the house had to be replaced, mudded, textured, primed, then painted. So glad it's done!

After: So it's a different view but it is the same room. We used the framed in wall as a headboard and painted it blue.

In-between: This is the closet that we made. This is before it had doors or paint. We also enclosed the master bathroom as well. I'll post more pictures later.
Before: Now this was fun. I found this in a shed in the back of our house and thought it would be fun for Ivie's room. It was in pretty bad shape. Lots of parts missing, bent all over, and ugly!
After: Wa-Lah! White spray paint, some new pink beads to make up for not many clear ones (and to add some girliness to it), and new covers over the coils. I love it!
Before: Ivie sitting in her room. Actually the half mauve half teal carpet has already been taken out so you really don't get a true before.
After: We painted her room a light yellow. It reminds me of a banana smoothie. I think it turned out really cute. We still have to finish her closet that we discovered the day before the carpet came so I'll post those later as well.
O.k. last one for today.
Before: This is the laundry room.
After: I'm starting to really love this little room. I still have big plans for decorating and organizing pretty much the whole house but it will have to happen after the main stuff is finished. Sigh!
There will be more pictures of the bathroom, boy's room, and others soon. And I must say Thank you to all of you who helped us so much with tearing stuff out, framing, putting up drywall, mudding, sanding, painting, cleaning, packing, moving, etc. the list could go on and on! We truly appreciate it and feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends that support us and always help us out.

Spring!

AAhh, Spring. I love when all my perenial flowers start blooming. Especially without any effort on my part! It's the one time of year that my yard looks somewhat nice. Even the mass load of dandelions in our grass look great. (as long as they are in bouquet's from Ivie and Zander) One morning they were both picking them and both proudly brought me a dandelion bouquet. It was so cute the difference between the two. Ivie's was very carefully picked and put together. Zander's was full of energy. I could just imagine Zander running to each dandelion he saw and picking it as fast as he could. They were both so excited and proud of their bouquet's I just had to take a picture.

This is just a picture of some new earrings I have in my little boutique. I just think they're so cute I wanted to show'em off a little. If you like them you can call me or go to my etsy shop. Zandie.etsy.com

Easter

The Easter bunny brought a little surprise today. Can you see it hiding in the corner of the couch. Zander spotted it first and then Ivie caught on. They were so excited and both wanted to hold the bunny all day. They have had so much fun with the bunny. We think it's a boy and we haven't decided 100% on a name yet. Ivie definitely has some creative ideas though, like Cajika, and Santa Claus. We'll keep you posted.

The kids also got to have an easter egg hunt at my Parents' house and at my Aunt Valerie's huge neighborhood and family egg hunt, and probably one more to come at the Froerer's
Zander and Ivie just picked through the candy they wanted instead of just grabbing piece in sight. This meant that they both ended up with about 5 suckers each and just a handful of chocolates. Which is fine with me. I don't know about anyone elses children but mine are not happy after a day of eating candy.

Brighton's blessing

We blessed Brighton last sunday. He looks so cute in his little white suit. I wanted to take a lot of pictures but these are the only ones I managed to take. It's always a little crazy after the blessing. We had everyone over after for lunch. The one of the kids was taken before church and it was the best we could do with trying to get three kids ready for church in time. There was a little bit of drama with Zander and his sippy cup. Everything else went great. Thank you to everyone that came and helped!
