Ivie Elves

This post was a desperate attempt to try to get this thing to work on my computer for our family reunion in Bear Lake. I am having issues getting it burned onto a DVD and was hoping that if it was on blogger it would have better quality but oh well. If you are wondering who the people are they are my parents, aunt and uncle, and my Grandma. Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

I'm so excited for Santa to come for Ivie & Zander. I hope they will love everything they get. Christmas is so fun with kids!
So We also did this look a like meter for Zander and it said that he looks more like his mom too, but only by 4% instead of 8%. So any of you who think that my kids look like Lance, you are right by about 42-46% I was surprised that the meter didn't say they looked 50-100% more like me. Hope everyone has a great Christmas, and have fun playing in the snow!

Family Pictures

We had Mitzi take some family pictures for us and they turned out great. Mitzi really has an eye for great pictures, as well as finding great spots for taking pictures. As for us, we are all doing great. I just had my birthday on Dec. 4 and got the straightener that I've wanted for a while. (Thanks, sweetie!) I also wanted to set up all my Christmas decorations for my birthday, but I guess I should have let Ivie in on my plans. Her goal was to break as many things as she could, and make as many messes as she could. Maybe she thought that if she was having lots of fun then so was I. However, she did give me lots of hugs and kisses all day and would say, "Oh, I love you, Mom." That's always a good birthday present.

Ivie's birthday,halloween, and redneck party

Ivie turned three years old on Oct. 27. We had cake and ice cream with all her cousins, aunts,
and uncles. We did face painting for the kids. Ivie chose a butterfly.

We were a fairy tale for Halloween. Lance was a duct tape knight, I was a princess, Ivie was the fairy, and Zander was a dragon. Ivie loved using her wand and saying, "Bibidy-bobidy boo!"

My side of the family decided to host a redneck party instead of doing the same Thanksgiving dinner that we always do. We all dressed up and look absolutely awful. After lunch they had pony and horse rides. They also hooked a mattress with a rope to a four wheeler and pulled people around on it. Ivie loved the pony and horse and kept wanting more turns.

Obviously this post was a mistake. I'm trying to do this while holding Zander who constantly wants to pound on the keys.

Awesome pics

My good friend Mitzi took these awesome pictures of Ivie and Zander. They weren't being very cooperative either so the fact that she got even one good picture is amazing! Notice, however, that we couldn't manage to get a picture of them together. Ivie fell asleep right before we got out of the car and and when she woke up she wasn't very happy. Every time we tried, Ivie would keep pushing Zander away. There are more pictures, but I seem to be having trouble uploading all of them, so here are some of my favorites.

Also, I just found out about another scam. My poor little Grandma called me and said that she just found out that she won $100,000 and that she got a check for $5000 to pay the taxes. She was to cash the check and within 48 hours take the money to western union or money gram and wire it to her tax representative in Canada! She totally believed it and was planning out all the gifts she was going to buy her grandchildren. I felt really bad to tell her it was a scam. I guess my mother had also told her it was a scam but she was still hoping it wasn't. She wanted me to look up the company on the internet justto make sure. I explained to her how the scams work and told her my own experience. Then I told her that I could write her a check right now for a million dollars but that doesn't mean that I have it. After that she said, "Well, you've just burst my bubble." One good thing that I heard, from someone who works at a bank, was that they usually can tell when someone brings in these fraudulant checks and they won't cash them.

Spread the word about secret shopper SCAM

I know I haven't blogged for a while, and I need to catch up but I wanted to let everyone know about this secret shopper scam. Lance thought it sounded fun for me to do since I shop a lot and enjoy it too. He signed me up to be a secret shopper under a company called Gateway Evaluation Services. They sent me a check for $990 and told me I could keep $100 but I had to send the rest with MoneyGram to my fake relative Mya Froerer in Canada. It of course sounded too good to be true but this was Lance's idea. I called him and told him that they had just sent me a check, etc. He said he thought it sounded like a scam. I defended what they said on the letter. I am so gullible. Then I told Lance that I would look into it and wait until he got home. It actually took me a while to find but I finally typed in secret shopper scam and a ton of info came up and the situation they explained sounded word for word with the letter that I got. I guess if I was to cash the check, which is fraud, then immediately send the cash via moneygram I would then be held liable to pay back that money when the bank discovered the bounced check and since the money would already be gone, except for the $100 I would be out $890. Some of the cases even said that people were sent $2000 or more and then had to pay all of it back to the bank. Anyway, I just want to spread the word so that no one falls victim to this scheme!!! I read that any money making scheme that pays good money for little work, has you pay any money, or has you wire money to anyone you don't know very well is a SCAM!

Sigh!!!!

Well, our vacations are over. We had a lot of fun and now we have to clean up our house, do loads and loads of laundry, and catch up on our messy yard. Oh yeah, and Ivie has picked up a brand new habit... hitting- yeah, so much fun! She has spent a lot of time lately in Zander's car seat which has become her time out seat, the only one she stays in :)

VACATIONS GALORE!

We just went to Lake Powell with my side of the family. It was a lot of fun. Then we drove straight to Lance's big family reunion in Huntsville. We have one week at home and then we're off to Island park and then Lake Powell again, this time with Lance's family- Fun, stressful, and a ton of laundry!
Ivie has been into taking pictures lately. She says, "Can I have Cheese?" I thought she was actually asking for cheese but I eventually figured out that she meant she wanted her picture taken. She's been posing with Zander, dolls, and obviously sunglasses. The last picture was taken the day before we went home. They both just fell asleep on the bed while Lance and I were standing right there. All of a sudden they were both really quiet. We thought it was really cute!

Backyard update

So it's been about a month and this is the small bit of progress that has been made in the backyard. Last night Lance told me that if I made a check list with specific things that he could do in one hour he could get it done faster. It is quite overwhelming to think what to do first since the whole thing looks bad. Hopefully next time I post pictures, they will actually be worth looking at!

SUMMER!!!

I am so excited to finally get to be outside. Ivie loves it. Zander?, not so much but he does take naps. Our backyard is looking a little better.
One day I noticed Ivie sitting next to Zander reading a book. They looked so cute I couldn't resist taking a picture.
We also got season passes to Lagoon. Whoo-hoo! We've gone about three times already. Ivie definitely loves it.

Backyard update

Well, it's obviously been a few weeks since Mother's Day. Lance keeps informing me that there is a processing period so he still has till next Wednesday and then the next Wednesday. As long as there is some progress being made it's o.k. with me. Here are some pictures of the small bit of progress that has been made so far. The first picture is the area that is supposed to be taken out for a nice grass area. The next picture is of the grass area that will be terraced. Then the pool has been emptied but needs to be cleaned out.

Sister's wedding

My little sis got married on May 30. Ivie's cast matches her dress but everyone still asked about her leg. She doesn't seem to mind it anymore. She was so excited to wear her princess dress.

Poor poor Ivie

It's only been about a month since Ivie had her stitches and now she has broken her leg. I was on the trampoline and did a small bounce, I guess it was a little too much because it knocked her off balance and then she started to hold her leg. That was Sunday afternoon. Monday I took her to the doctor to see if she had broken it and they said that she has a small fracture on her Tibia, right below her knee. They referred me to an orthopedic surgeon but couldn't get her in until Tues. morning. They put a full leg cast on it, but said she has to have it for only 2 weeks. Ivie thought it was very traumatic but thinks that her cast is pretty cool now because you can draw on it.
