Glasses for Ivie

We have been getting Ivie ready for Kindergarten and at the Doctor's office they said she needed to get glasses so a few weeks later here she is. Pink glasses of course! These sparked her interest because they had a tiny Dora picture on the very end of the part that goes behind her ears so no one can see Dora but I guess she knows that she is there :) When we took her to the Optometrist she freaked out when we left without a pair of glasses and I had to drag her to the car with her screaming, "I want my glasses!" The receptionists were laughing and said that they don't often hear that from the people that come in. One of Ivie's cute little friends at preschool heard about her glasses and asked her mom why Ivie got to have glasses and then later on when they were eating she started saying that she couldn't see the tomatoes on her plate. How funny! I guess this will help motivate Ivie to keep her glasses on. Anyway here's a pic when she first put them on.
Here's a couple of pictures of us at the Dam with Steve Collard and his group. Zander caught one of the three fish that were caught all day. And Brighton stepped into one of the ice holes. His leg was completely soaked up to his hip, good thing the holes are very small! We had to strip him down and borrow Steve's hoodie. I'm glad it was such a warm day. He obviously doesn't look upset about it.

Here's a couple of pictures with Zander skiing. My brother-in-law invented this awesome device called Hookease that teaches kids to ski very easily and it's a ton easier on the one teaching as well!

Winter Fun

We went up to an awesome cabin in Bear Lake after Christmas with the Shaw side family. It was a blast! We did a little Michael Jackson dancing on the Wii, went sledding, snowmobiling, and hot tubbing every night.

Cute girls! All of Ivie's girl cousins on the Shaw side. And in matching pj's of course.

My sisters Shannon and Jayclyn. We were laughing because JC was doing her best to let us know that she didn't want to go snowmobliling. She would have been happy to stay and watch her movies or daydream about her and Gerard Butler's family but we all made her go. It makes me laugh every time I see these pictures!

Playing in the snow! Lance took the kids on a little snowmoblie ride. It was sooo cold. Lance and all the boys had a full day of snowmobiling and came back with a little frostbite on their faces.

We have been over to the ice sheet in Huntsville where Lance has started to teach the kids how to skate. They were excited and Zander couldn't wait for his turn even though the skates were quite big on him.

Brighton turned 1!

These pictures are really dark cause we had to use our video camera but I'm pretty sure we have probably ten different versions between my sisters' and mom's cameras.
I can't believe my little guy is one year old. He was supposed to be my baby for a while. He has been kicking around little balls lately so I decided to do a soccer ball cake. He really likes cake so we found. He demolished it! (and by the way we did not give him the whole cake just maybe half - haha) What a cutie! He didn't really get the whole present thing so he had a little help.
I know I'm kind of a lame mom for not doing a big grand party. I guess it's what you get after three kids. I'm pretty sure all he cared about was the cake and presents anyway. I can't wait to get his one year birthday pictures taken but probably won't happen until after the crazy holidays.

Halloween

Ivie had her 5th birthday. She wanted a unicorn cake so we came up with this. I wanted to try these cake balls. They were fun and I definitely ate too many.

We had a Family night where the kids got to go pick a pumpkin from Grandma Froerer's garden. Then they painted them.

This year for halloween we all kind of did our own little thing. Ivie was a witch, Zander was a firefighter, Brighton was a dinosaur, Lance got to be Heman, and I fulfilled my young girl dreams by being Rainbow Bright, and . My mom tells me that when I was younger I used to say, "my name isn't Breklyn it's Rainbow Bright!"
My mom hosted a family halloween party at the old methodist church on 26th street. It was really fun and scary too. My Mom and Dad and especially my Uncle Jerold and his family went all out in decorating and games. We had a scavenger hunt in the dark and there were so many creepy things in an already creepy building. I had to pretend not to be scared so that Zander would calm down. They even had a fake hobo asleep in a sleeping bag with his cart, jugs of water and boxes of food. Pretty much everyone, including me, was fooled and thought that some guy really had snuck in and set up camp. Then of course we had kareoke and got to listen to my Dad aka Steve Perry sing a concert to us all night long. :)
On Halloween we took the kids trick or treating to a grand number of 5 houses in the pouring rain. Then we headed off to the Collard's for another fun party with fun games, and too many delicious treats!

family pictures

These were taken at the beginning of the summer. I'm just barely posting them. It was raining really hard but Austin and Karen were going to leave for Med school in the next week so this was our last chance for a family picture. Mitzi did these and they look awesome, especially when you consider the conditions for taking pictures.
